Caeiago Horse Riding Centre - 2 Day Trail Ride

Our trail ride is a circular ride which is done over two days allowing us to venture further into the more remote areas of the Cambrian mountains and giving us the opportunity to experience some of the most dramatic scenery in the UK. Clients then have the choice of either being shipped back to the centre at the end of the first day and taken back up to the horses the next morning or else staying in the Rhandirmwyn / Cilycwm area near the horses. Due to unpredictable weather conditions and length of day, we only run trail rides from early May to late September.

We need a minimum of six people before we are able to run a trail ride, therefore if you are not already coming in a group you can either start a trail ride up yourself, which we will then endeavour to fill up to the required number or join one that has already been started.

As we spend up to six hours in the saddle per day (plus breaks) and the terrain is slightly more demanding you must be a fit and competent rider before you consider a trail ride.

A brief outline of the route and itinerary for the two days is shown below:

On the first day the ride sets off at 10.30am as usual and we ride up the Twrch valley, cross over into the Dulais valley and we then ride over the top of Craig Pysgotwr where we get some incredible 360 degree views, passing ancient standing stones as we go until we drop down into the Towy valley and head towards Rhandirmwyn / Cilycwm arriving between 5 - 6 pm.

After a hearty breakfast on Day 2 your horses will be ready and waiting for you to start your ride home at about 10:00-10:30 am.

Riding up from the village of Cilycwm we climb up onto Mynydd Mallaen. This beautiful mountain is one of the dominant features of the area. It is wild and offers spectacular views all the way across. At the other side we join the forestry and ride down into the delightful village of Caio were we can guarantee a warm welcome from Hywel and Jan at the Brunant Arms, one of the best pubs in Wales. After lunch we head back to Caeiago, arriving about 4:00pm.

THE COST OF THE 2 DAY TRAIL RIDE IS AN EXTRA £134.00 PER PERSON IN ADDITION TO THE COST OF THE CHOSEN BREAK.
