About Caeiago Horse Riding and Trekking Centre Cae Iago Riding Centre (est. 1968) is a family run business specialising in adult horse riding holidays. Over the last 40 years, it has established itself as one of the most popular horse riding holiday centres in the UK. It is located on the edge of the beautiful Cambrian Mountains in the heart of rural Wales ensuring spectacular riding country and varied wildlife. Old Roman roads and ancient drovers tracks take us past clear mountain streams as they bubble down wild unspoilt hills into shady valleys. We have a wide range of forward going and well cared for Welsh cobs and horses to suit all abilities. However, as you will be riding four to five hours per day, we now ask everyone to have mastered the basic riding skills (walk, trot and a little canter) prior to arrival as we feel this will make their holiday all the more enjoyable and a lot less painful! Fun and relaxation are the main aims. If you want to stay in bed until breakfast time and saunter out just in time for the ride at 10.30am, your horse will have been brought in, brushed and tacked up ready for you. Alternatively you can get up a little earlier and prepare your horse yourself and as you will be supervised at all times, it is an excellent opportunity to gain confidence if you are new to it. Our riding season runs ALL YEAR. Unlike many other establishments, our prices remain the same throughout the year. We offer full week and midweek packages in addition to weekends as well as trail ride for the more experienced horse rider. Mid-week holidays are becoming increasingly popular and you can choose between 2,3,4 or 5 day holidays. As there are no designated start or finish times to our breaks, you can adapt your holiday to suit yourself and price it accordingly. All packages consist of 4-5 hours of horseback riding per day on safe forward going cobs over some superb Welsh countryside plus full board accommodation. We are also happy to cater to any non riding partner/friend, who may wish to come and explore the area, at a nightly rate. If you prefer not to ride and would be more interested in mountain biking or walking , we can offer some great routes. Aromatherapy/Sports Massage After a long day in the saddle you may fancy a relaxing aromatherapy massage or a more invigorating Sports massage to ease any aches and pains. We have a number of local therapists who are happy to come to the centre to do treatments at a very reasonable price. These can either be booked in advance or during your stay. After a day's riding, there are plenty of interesting places to visit and things to do in the locality or if you fancy a leisurely walk, we will be happy to give you directions. For those of you who just want to relax on site, there is a pleasant garden to sit in and a comfortable lounge with Sky television and a games room. We also have a little shop selling gifts and riding wear and there is wireless internet connection throughout the property. We have three purpose built dog kennels for any clients who would like to bring their dogs on holiday with them. There is no extra charge for this service as it is DIY!!!!!! You will find everything about your stay at Cae Iago informal and relaxed; except your safety. Clients are encouraged to treat the place as home and to enjoy themselves away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. People come back time and time again. We offer both regular and occasional riders a chance to relax and enjoy the freedom of the countryside at a price that means they can make it a habit.
